David Jackson Announces Candidacy for Mayor

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (iSurfWKY Inc.) – iSurf News was on location in Beard Park in downtown Madisonville for the announcement from David Jackson regarding his candidacy for City Mayor.

Jackson, a local CPA as well as Minister, shared with the community the basic outline for his upcoming campaign as well as his personal feelings regarding the local economy.

“I want to be Mayor because I love Madisonville and am concerned about its future,” said Jackson in a recent press release. “Over 20 years ago I came to Madisonville to start my family and my career. I would like to see my children grow up in Madisonville and be able to find jobs and stay here to raise my grandchildren. I want to do my level best to make sure the Madisonville we leave to our kids is stronger and more prosperous and provides real opportunity for them.

During the announcement of his candidacy, Jackson stated that his choice of occupation as a CPA and minister have allowed him to connect with a large variety of local people and that he has witnessed many individuals who went through the process of getting an education and returned to Madisonville to find that there were no careers for them. “Our people need jobs and opportunity,” Jackson said.

In summarizing his basic overall goals for his campaign, Jackson said that his goals were the creation of local jobs, tax issues, revealing what the city government is doing with local funds, service to Hopkins County citizens, and a strong focus on the future for coming generations.

Jackson was born in Sebree, Ky and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1987. Since then, he has worked for a number of high profile businesses in the region. In 1999 he founded Living Waters Church of God where he has served as Pastor for a decade. Currently he owns his own business under the name of David W. Jackson, CPA.
