David Jackson On Creating Jobs
I want to thank all the businesses who have invested in Madisonville. You deserve a city government that partners with you to create jobs and opportunity for our citizens. Research has proven that 80% of new jobs come from growing small businesses. I extend a hand of partnership to all businesses – small and large, union and non-union. Together let's turn the Open for Business sign back on in Madisonville.
I am committed to creating these strong partnerships. I am committed to my plan for real and immediate tax relief. But most of all, I am committed to keeping businesses growing and creating new jobs.
My administration will keep and support the law and keep the functions of government running; and, when I am elected Mayor, I will work to ensure that the businesses of Madisonville have the best opportunities possible to grow and prosper.
I respect our entrepreneurs. I respect your vision, your innovation, and the risks you take. And I appreciate the opportunities you bring to our city. I am your advocate and my administration will work FOR you and not AGAINST you.
The bottom line is this – we have to do a better job working with our local businesses. We have to make creating and retaining jobs a priority of the Mayor’s office, not just crisis management.
