The men and women who put on the City uniform and go to work each day are some of the hardest working, most committed police officers, firefighters, utility and sanitation workers in the state. And just like them, I am deeply committed to providing the best service to our residents. After all, isn’t that why we all pay taxes? The idea that government exists to serve its citizens, and not the other way around, has to start at the top - and the top could learn a lot from these front-line workers.

I will work with all levels of city government. I will encourage teamwork and innovation. I will insist on accountability and respect in every department. I believe that City government needs a dose of good old common sense. Common sense that puts customer service above politics. Common sense that recognizes we are, first and foremost, public servants.
