David Jackson's Bio
David Jackson is the son of Kenneth and Esther Jackson of Sebree, KY. His father was a union factory worker for Whirlpool and his mother was a migrant math aide. He has two brothers and one sister. His middle brother, Jeff, is a Colonel in the United States Air Force.
He married Leigh Ann Adkins in 1986. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in December 1987 with a degree in Business Administration. He then went to work for the Ford Motor Credit and then Renshaw Automotive Group and worked with them for seven years.
In 1996, David and Leigh Ann adopted their son, Jordan, from Guatemala. In 1996, David went to work at Bruce, Franklin & Company. David went back to school to work towards his Certified Public Accountant certificate, which he completed in 1998.
In 1999, he founded Living Waters Church of God and has been pastor there for ten years. Shortly after starting the church, they began a bus route, picking up children of all ages and backgrounds. Noticing that a lot of children were coming in hungry, David decided they would begin feeding the children as they arrived on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. The church also provides clothes for some of the children and also each school year, provides the children with the needed supplies to begin school. David is a licensed minister with the Church of God of Cleveland, TN.
In 2002, they went back to Guatemala and adopted their daughter, Chloe. In 2004, David decided to go out on his own and started David W. Jackson, CPA.
Like many others, David knows the hardship local government puts on small business owners and wants to try to correct that as mayor. David also teaches a class each quarter at the Madisonville Community College to electricians on business and tax issues. David is very family oriented. He spends as much time as possible doing family activities and going on family vacations. He believes that family is a very important part of someone's life and will work to ensure that city government works to create jobs, give real tax relief and offer excellent customer service to all our citizens.
